weeknotes 32.9
hiiii whats wrong with me to be surprised that after a week its a new week, and i need to post weeknotes because its been a week and its monday again. you know what i mean?
i can't quite set a nice vibe because i am still sick. head is pounding. finally having a productive cough so i'm almost over it... i hope. going to work actually made it worse. and i went in for overtime yesterday, because i'm stupid and i love to suffer (and have 3 projects to wrap before end of year). although it was very Lonely and testing a New Machine which meant going back every 40 mins, seeing if i liked the results and then tweaking it by like, literally 5-10 seconds. 12 hours of that, fun!! oh but actually one of the work projects i did got recognized during my company fireside chats. they happen every other week. so its my second time my engineering department has been recognized this year!!. so its really nice. i'm pretty sure next year my major project i spent like nearly 8 months on will probably be recognized because we reduced "operational costs" (read: staffing) the tl;dr is that my new machine basically improved quality from like 93% to a solid 99+%. there are a lot of metrics that are being tracked actually, and all of them are good. just a stepping stone to other things that feels crazy when i try to explain to people what i want.
my christmas tree is set up. if i wasn't typing this at 11:30 pm i would've totally had a picture prepared.
i went to san francisco on wednesday. i went to the new bookstore in union square thats called 'the best bookstore' or something else thats evokes millenial cringe. my review of the selection is "Not Good". (i miss the one that was like 2 blocks away from montgomery station) but the real bookstore i went to is william stout architectural books. i never go because i'm never in north beach. and i'm never in north beach because ... i hate italians...? thats a joke. unlike when i say i hate the french. i'll post what books i bought when i read them because posting unread books is stolen valor or whatever. but i'm not sure how fast their shipping is but they had a lot of design books, so if you wanna get someone a Cool Book as a gift their selection is great.
i didn't realize there was an andytown in the salesforce park... something feels wrong about being able to get a snowy plover on that side of the city. snowy plovers should be drank between cancelled classes in the foggy sunset (taraval location only!!!). also to keep talking about sf because i got gators on my mind. claude died??? thats so sad.
now that its december its the first week i can also use my hobonichi weeks!! this is my 10th year of using hobonichi i think. i'm too lazy to log into my account to see the year i first placed an order. but its quite nice to see how unprecious i've become with them. its half planner and have a dump notebook. i have other things written down. but those are just ideas that i could write about if i ever prioritized my time well. too much Introspection needed to write from the hip you know
so here are the things i've overheard/written down:
- bean soupification (as in the act of being bean souped)
- "how am i not myself"
- "gentle enough to hold without bleeding" genuinely wish i could remember where this was from
- productive procrastination. like doing something else instead of doing the thing you need to be doing.
things i enjoyed lately
okay i'm just too tired now... i'm fighting the nyquil, and the nyquil is winning.
