weeknotes 32.51
okay time is ticking, and i'm going to be 33 soon!! must think of birthday plans, but its on a tuesday so i doubt anything will happen but i can at least use it as an excuse to have nick to let me do whatever i want (he does that already).
so i spent the most of the week in utah, which probably deserves its own blog post, so this is kind of sparse because i need to go through photos before i can blog about it and instead i slept in til 2. i was going to start blogging earlier but olive has been sitting on my lap and why would i disturb my sweet lil dog to use my laptop...
quick trip itinerary was fly into salt lake city, drive to moab for arches and canyonlands then drive to zion and fly out of vegas. i put no energy into differentiating what i want to write in weeknotes vs a blog post so i will probably say nothing out of fear of redundancy when i finally make a non-weeknotes post. but i have also been to salt lake city, zion and vegas (third time just this year) before so i dont have any thoughts i'm dying to get out of my brain. although on the first day hike we did i got a bunch of sand in my shoes which made me think thats why my toes hurt. but two of my toenails are bruised and i don't know how that happened. i'm fragile and falling apart.
so being away from work and reality was nice!!! and then when i get back i realized being gone one day actually gave me more work because it took 3 people to finish a normal task that i typically do, and they did lots of little things wrong that all the work they did i have to re-do. and in their defense, i have such a made up job that is hard to understand the requirements even for them and we work together lol.
on sunday we had our book club meeting!! blood over bright haven was okay. i finished it when i was in moab. i think my biggest issue with it was the magic system felt more fleshed out than the characters so ultimately when things happen to characters i dont really care!! i dont really read fantasy so i dont know.
i also finished sparks for tomorrow or 二十世紀電気目録 which does not translate the same. i love kyoani but this one was Okay. i liked that kihachi and inako have a very 'whisper of the heart' relationship. best episode is the music one that did not need to happen at all but i'm glad that it did. top kyoani is k-on!, hibike! euphonium and free! so maybe good kyoani shows are the ones with the exclamation mark in the title. thats just a joke because i like hyouka too.
i have been trying to finish reading some of the books i'm halfway through because i love to read like 9 books at a time. i bought three more books on this trip, burnside by devyn defoe and beijing sprawl by xu zechen i got at writers block in las vegas which is one of my favoriteeee bookstores. i love to go there. i have forced many people to go there with me. both of these books are purely vibe picks and not even on my list to read, so its just me spending money... and i got desert solitaire by edward abbey at arches national park. so i need to stop buying books.
i'm sort of surprised i've managed to yap about something this week. okay bye!!
