weeknotes 32.47

you guys,,, watching me get closer to 33 has made me realize life goes fast. sad it took me 32 years and 47 weeks

so i forgot it was monday, despite saying happy monday in two (2) group chats. i also slept in til 2 pm? and sunday i slept in til 3 pm. so i'm very sleepy, not sure why.

i know i've been kind of boring lately. life and whatever. but!!! i did something this week!! yippie! but i got stuff to do since i've wasted my whole day so i need to make this quick.

i went to bottom of the hill for possibly the last time since they are closing at the end of the year. bottom of the hill is an iconic intimate venue in san francisco. i dont know a single person who has ever had a bad experience here. even now in 2026 tickets are will call only and they flip through a stack of papers to find your name. they have a small outside patio, the bands you see are just hanging out in the back because the venue is extremely small. the backroom also holds merch and equipment of other bands. its a venue with a lot of character. i wanted to bring nick here before they closed because he has heard so many people talk positively about it. we saw brainstory, and their two openers were bands local to sf, radio veloso and bolero!.

i went to my coworkers gender reveal party which was super nice!! i never went to a gender reveal party and i'm withholding my thoughts on gender reveal parties lol. i know its just another party and a good way for people to get some diapers and baby wipes. i don't really care. but it was nice to see my coworkers outside of work. they're having a girl and i'm very happy with that. i also got invited to another persons baby shower next weekend lol. maybe i'll go.

saturday it was my cousins birthday party. since 2011 i have taken a picture of them and their birthday cake on an instax wide camera. i need to scan photos and send them to people. their birthday party is something i look forward to every year despite them saying "this is the last year" for many years now, my youngest cousin turned 30 so "how could we not do a party?" its quite embarrassing but i realized slightly too late in life (7th grade) that your siblings don't have to have a birthday close to yours. my brother and i are two days apart, oct 11th and oct 13th, and my cousins are aug 28th and 29th. and we all lived in the same house growing up, so sharing birthdays is very normal in my brain. so its fun to see that now we just add people on to the cakes and birthday celebrations. one year we just kept relighting candles and celebrated anything. lately the pictures are posed or redone with them blowing out candles because children love to blow out candles, and we're adults so it doesn't really matter. anyways, i think this is my favorite photo series i've ever done. "photo series" lmao, so professional sounding. sometimes outlining photos and presenting it in one way makes it more meaningful than standalone photos. are the photos good? nope!! but its personal which is why i love them, and i put them all out when we do cake so when its cut and people get their slice everyone is able to see them.

lots of other things have been going on this week. nothing really worth mentioning except the bookclub with my cousins!! i think theres already 13 of us and we have our book selected for september already, epub provided. my cousins gf is a teacher (TK) and she made membership cards and a bunch of cute library adjacent things.

well its 12:40 i need to put away laundry and sleep!!
