howdy yall!!!!
this week is another week that was bad because Life Continues to Happen. like one more person in my family ending up in the ER, and then one more friend deeply going through shit. i am also having extremely bad allergic reactions to bug bites!!!!!!!! its quite painful :) kind of hate talking about all the bad because i hate being a victim and i hate being pitied. also for work i was tasked with working on/repairing something broken, told my boss how bad it is and his words were 'i feel sorry for you but please keep going' which is actually just genuinely funny.
vibes: drinking orange juice, eating reeses pieces, nick is listening to some youtube videos of some guitar stuff which is pretty typical of him.
i actually went out this week! as much as i love to be home its unfortunately summer and i live in a house with no ac. and unlike europeans (mostly the english and french) just whining and dying in their homes i just go somewhere colder like san francisco or any place with air conditioning. and during heatwaves of consistent days of 100+ even at night, sleeping at the beach is pretty homeless behavior, but i love to do that also.
on monday i went to the blue jays at giants game. for the first time ever the giants won a game i went to... maybe the hack is cheering for the other team. but i spent a few hours in sf. i went to hedge which has been popping off for the vibes. the coffee was Okay. my biggest issue is that pourover is $12 and they use a hario switch. which isnt bad, i have a switch. but my issue is that i paid $12 for a coffee i can barely taste. i should've just got the batch brew!!! and there was basically no available seating on a monday at 1 pm? so i cant imagine this place ever having seating. but also i dont even think it was good. theyre playing music and thats why its vibey...? when did our standards for cafes get so low. i'd be okay with not going again. since heath newsstand is nearby i went and bought the granta scandinavia issue since there were so many featured authors that are on my radar.
tuesday was an errands day, but i did convince nick to bring me to womb house books not to buy anything, just to peruse because we were in the area.
and did yall know that the summer 2026 season revived anime? i'm watching the new kyoani show called "sparks for tomorrow" in english and 二十世紀電気目録 which is definitely not "sparks for tomorrow" lol, goodbye lara, gits (science saru), and jaadugar also science saru which i hope ill be tonally similar to heike monogatari.
but maybe i'll even start watching movies. i started getting the monday weekly screen slate emails to hopefully convince me to go and watch movies!! hasnt for the two months ive been getting them, but thats mostly because of timing issues and not because of lack of interest. then i can make a letterboxd account and make quippy little reviews also. just kidding because i dont know when to stop talking. despite shakespeare saying brevity is the soul of wit i somehow think even he would draw the line at these bullshit letterboxd 'reviews'.

- palet company tile i will likely never need to buy these tiles but god they are sooooo beautiful. inspiration page linked because i love it. but you can customize the tiles... love the camo light pattern. very fun to play around on their shop page and imagine your life if you had money to spend on tiles
