weeknotes 32.27
hii everyone happy april 13th!! april 13th being the birthday of one of the many brian/bryans i know and we have had a lifelong gag of telling each other happy birthday and replying happy half birthday.
the vibe is: eating 2 packs of indomie mi goreng (hot & spicy) and listening to mei semones new ep
gas was $5.80 a gallon sunday night, pre straight of hormuz blockade
nick has requested i add how many guitar strings he breaks, which was 4 this week.
i did my taxes!! surprisingly don't owe. maybe i fucked up my taxes but thats on the IRS to find out. anyways despite seeing the message in the group chat "two more weeks!" last week, i somehow did not comprehend that i need to actually do a lot of things in those two weeks before going to boston. time doesnt feel real sometimes. i'll look at any of the calendars near me and it never feels like enough time. i have been busy all day doing boring life things like cleaning and taxes and being tricked into calling the doctor for my grandma. which i will do, but when she has two daughters as nurses who can translate all of this better than me, this shit sucks ass. i'm very excited to leave and have time off. and see nathan, sean, and olivia, i guess.
nathan has started reading on the calculation of volume, because i mentioned the 4th book comes out on the 14th we should just read it while i'm in boston. anyways i said 'taruhi seltermiya' and i just need this to be recorded outside of one chat because this is extremely funny to me. arguably, haruhi has more cultural impact than the movie groundhog day. am i being a weeb? i will continue to be a weeb because justin and i watched an anime movie called chao. i cannot explain why we saw this without seeming ridiculous because neither of us even watched the trailer we were just like "lets go" and eventually did. and this is what i do. one time i didnt even know someone would die and it was in the trailer. when i say i love to go in blind, i truly truly mean it. anyways it was raining so hard that the service or something was out and the theater couldnt scan peoples tickets in? so justin just refunded it literally 3 minutes before the movie started and the next minute everything was fine. honestly thought about leaving because i'm a quitter and chicken sounded good. but chao was actually really cute and funny so i'm glad i stayed. but also the chicken after was so good for no reason.
we talked about 9/11 which is actually a very fun question (at least on the west coat, my bad new yorkers) because i remember the day but i have no good idea of the differences that were a result of 9/11. 9/11 has been on my mind not just because of the war in iran but because i just finished the deserters by mathias enard, which actually does take place on 9/11. i'm doing pretty bad on the international booker long list!! mostly because i need more books i have never struggled so much to get a book from the library or in person, i've resulted to buying them online. but so far on the 4 i've read there are very interesting narrative perspectives. i have lots of thoughts on what themes and ideas that these books share but i wanna see how the other books are before i blab.
i'm very tired and my neck hurts because i slept on it funny.
