no 2025 wrap up!! new year new me!!! i say this as if 2025 was a bad year. i failed to keep track of all the things i enjoyed this year and that much backwards thinking and the fact time doesnt feel real is just Too Much for me. i have been enjoying a lot of peoples 2025 posts though. i do need to make a post about japan and also wrapping up the second half of the year, which was a terrible way to write about the first half. mistakes were made.

vibe setting
listening: my dad unprompted and completely genuinely is playing babymonster. but most of the day i was listening to crumbs live! album and i would've said that if my dad didn't do something more entertaining.
drinking: 3rd cup of coffee because i woke up from a nap that did not hit.
baking: orange poppy seed. yes orange poppy seed, not lemon. the oranges are from my backyard and any time someone is skeptical of the orange i just say shut up and try it and then without fail they request the cake again. however this is a Winter Only cake. i tried with store oranges (storanges) and it wasnt as good tbh.
i fear the next few weeknotes are going to be boring because some dickhead i work with loves to go on medical leave. i'm saying that as a joke, but i do think its funny how its always before/after PTO and when its busy!! like he looks at the work forecast and comes back when it slows down. whatever.
there were a few hours of the day that the sky was clear and i could see the sierras covered in snow. sometime this winter i want to go to reno on amtrak and come back. i just want to see the mountains covered in snow. so if anyone irl wants to come with me and sit on a train for at least 6 hrs assuming no delays just one day and then gamble (or go to circus circus) and catch the return train in the morning.
other plans on my radar are having a sea urchin harvesting party with some coworkers but were trying to work out the day. because paying for uni is a scam when a fishing license is $20 and purple sea urchins are an invasive species. i also desperately need to eat abalone or i think i might die. these are linked, you can google it.
i have nothing to share. its just been work and then home and being at home has been being an adult. like i can barely read for 5 minutes before sleeping. i'm going to give up on this week. but nick wants me to tell you that hes into lawnmowers right now (we have no lawn) and he misses the smell of cut grass.
