weeknotes 101226

hi happy monday!! my birthday is tomorrow and i do have plans but due to the nature of weeknotes you can find out about it next week.

this week was sort of crazy because i felt as if i did nothing but i actually was busy but the majority of it was not fun. nick hurt his back. first he blamed the mattress that i don't find an issue with but i can sleep anywhere in any position so i'm not helping his case. so we swapped mattresses out, and then got a mattress topper which maybe we couldve just done that in the beginning... my bed is slightly too high for olive to jump up on. which is comforting because for a small dog she takes up a lot of space. but she sits and whines on the ground for me to lift her up. but nick is on FMLA now, or modified work duty. i don't know which anymore.

a lot of my issues this week stem from work. i should be lucky to only be stressed out from work i guess. but my boss was out on PTO, then my partner called in sick, which i know was a lie because i know his sister. he is reaching his PTO max so oh well. but it was also at the worst time possible since he heard the previous week everything my boss lined up for me, work wise and some meetings for him. and so my first day back, thursday was catching up on 4 days off for me, my partner, and then everyone kept asking me things because my boss was out. and the night shift guy was also out on bereavement so i couldn't pass off any work to another person. so its one of those weeks where i'm trying to do multiple jobs and instead i do all of them terribly!! absolutely awful. october is a great month for PTO, the weather is good... but i might have to kill my partner you guys. i even went in to work today to catch up on things but more things were derailed, new projects to think about starting...

so then i would have a shitty day at work and nick would be like "hey im at the hospital" or "hey i'm at the place for workers comp" like ?? okay. just Chaos from start to end the last few days.

but on Fun Life Things i went and saw aespa!!!!!!! did i buy the ticket at 4pm? yes. was it on the side of the stage? yes, but it was $50 ($20 was fees i hate ticketmaster) i'm surprised to get kiss n tell idk why. but aespa simply has too many good songs to do solos and duos. thats mean as a thought though, but you realize how many good songs a group has when you miss out on some... i saw justin for like 30 mins before the start but he had floor tickets, of course.

i love confetti pics, i'm sorry. you give me confetti at a concert then i'm gonna post that pic aespa

sunday was my brothers birthday also!! a rare weekend birthday so we cooked and ate a lot all day. i baked him a carrot cake with chocolate frosting, this is his usual request and pretty yummy!!! his boss loves when i bake things so i guess he brought a piece today and she said he was so spoiled lol. i have also forced him to bring her baked goods for years so she is pretty used to it. never met her lol

my cousins bookclub. someone suggested we read the assassins apprentice, and then wasn't even available for this months meetings so we have decided no series, and if youre not participating you dont get your book picked. and omg... we were all struggling. it took all of us like 4 chapters to actually understand what was happening because there was a small portion at the start of each chapter for exposition but no real font size change so it was pretty confusing to read the sudden switch up... half of us didn't catch up. kind of a bad pick!! spent most of the time answering questions for the people who didnt catch up.

i also finished fat city by leonard gardner!! i couldve read the back blurbs and realized this was a movie before i read it, but i didn't so now i wanna watch the movie. its very interesting to see stockton portrayed in a very familiar way. this book is about boxing so let me talk about stockton lol. i once told an internet friend i was from stockton and he said hes been there, played a show there and described it as a zombieland-like atmosphere. because one of the main characters is a miserable drunk the nights were described in ways i know stockton to be only because i myself was also up to no good. i could tell the month in the book based on the field labor they were doing. for such a short book there is quite a bit packed in when i think about it. i love not talking about a story when i'm talking about a book.

i thought i was going to say or do more... but i'm tired. i wanna shower and go to sleep...
