my blog

its kind of starting to feel like fall

title unrelated and nothing autumnal is mentioned,,, oops. titles are hard you know?

i actually watched a movie this week. i saw linda linda linda. the note i put immediately after watching was ''interesting that media can immortalize things" and in a small notebook i had space that could write more, but why do i expect myself to know what i'm talking about and be able to extrapolate based on these fragmented thoughts lol. in linda linda linda they cover songs by the band the blue hearts which i've never heard of, but is a real band and not a fictional band for the sake of plot. but i guess i meant its like the delorean (which ive seen 2 irl) has been immortalized by back to the future but flopped irl. but because of the movies we now know the car even 40 years later. i'm actually big fan of 青春 media. hard to define 'youth' as a genre that doesn't immediately converge with the idea of 'young adult' within english. but things written by adults that are not necessarily targeted towards the age demographic they represent. the blue hearts which are totally a 青春 punk band and very apt that the girls cover their songs.

i read tatami time machine blues, by tomihiko morimi. how much do i say about a book i read in japanese and also watched the ONA?

i also read the anthropologists by ayseguel savas. its probably been my favorite book i read this year. give me some time to sit with it and i can update if its still my favorite. i read it in basically two sittings, the break was to cook and to eat. i've always felt drawn to daily life. i saw an instagram reel about little bits of poetry in everyday life and it has stuck with me. and not just things that are not said directly to me but i will eavesdrop and overhear. i once went to zion national park and at the top of angels landing i heard this guy say "i replaced my water intake with coconut la croix" and that was in 2018 i still remember it. the statements i hear i want follow up questions for.

these are all half thoughts, and given more time i could link them into something worth reading. but thats kind of not the point right now i guess. lately everything for me has been so fragmented.

anyways, what are other things on my radar i've supposed to be doing? i'm not sure anymore. (nathan do not ask me about posting about japan) i'm going to bake some brownies and get back to work.
